Paul On Keeper Search

Paul Goddard says there were plans to bring in a goalkeeping reinforcement even before Steve Bywater broke a bone in his hand last week.
With Craig Forrest recently diagnosed as having testicular cancer, the need was identified to bring in an experienced keeper as cover.
Says Paul:
"It is a problem we were on to before Steven Bywater got injured so there are certainly things in process to try to change that.
"From the moment Craig's situation occurred we were putting feelers out and hopefully we can sort that out in the near future.
"There is a possibility of a loan deal and we are looking at two or three different options at the moment."
It is a setback for Steve, who, on occasion last season, was preferred to Craig for a place on the bench.
"It is obviously sad for Steve because it is a long recovery time," says Paul.
He has ruled out the likelihood of Ludek Miklosko returning to action, even though he is still registered as a player.
"Ludo did one session last week," reveals Paul, "we said 'you'd better get yourself out there'.
"But like all of us old crocks the next day he came in and was shot away.
"But I think using him will be the last resort."
And, although David James was on the bench on Sunday, Paul says he still has some work to do.
"David is training, doing most things and looking better and better," says Paul.
"He still needs a little bit of match practice and needs to work a little bit on his speed of feet.
"From day one he has worked extremely hard to get fit, and he is not far away at all."
David is scheduled to play a full reserve game this week.
