West Ham United's under-17 side beat Fulham at the weekend but, sadly, the under-19s were unable to make it a double victory over the West Londoners as they lost in disappointing fashion.

Of the 2-1 victory for the younger side, Peter Brabrook said: "It was a pleasing performance and we could have scored six."

They were happy to settle for two, though, scored by Brent Tattam and Graeme Carrick.

A 2-0 loss for the under-19s left Tony Carr extremely disappointed, and he said: "They were better than us but not great.

"It was a very poor performance and there are no excuses; it was the worst performance of the season.

"It was disjointed, mistake-ridden, and lacklustre.

"I am choked because we worked hard all week only to produce a performance that wasn't worthy of the West Ham shirt."

Of the two goals in the 2-0 defeat, Tony said: "The first was a howler from the goalkeeper who missed an innocuous cross - it was a horrendous mistake.

"We rallied a bit in the second half but a poor clearance from the keeper led to a penalty being conceded by Metitri."
