Hammers boss Glenn Roeder has expressed his delight at seeing his
team bounce back from last week's humiliating defeat at
Blackburn Rovers by securing a 2-0 victory over Southampton to
maintain their unbeaten home record at Upton Park this season.
Glenn said afterwards: "I'm very pleased for the club and the players, and especially the supporters. They have been really good.
"We've now got to keep working hard, but we must also enjoy these victories.
"We had some good words 15 minutes before kick-off and I asked the lads to show some bottle - a good East End phrase!
"Even Tomas Repka knew what I was talking about, because football is a universal language.
"The first half wasn't much of a spectacle, it was a bit tense. There was an edginess but we still tried to play football.
"The previous two matches have been excruiating but it turned out okay today and now we have got to put in another quality performance against Chelsea on Wednesday."
