James Confident

David James insists that it is only a matter of time before things come right at West Ham - and he can't wait to be part of it.
"Because of the new staff the whole structure has been changed, "he says, "it is not just the case of a new manager.
"We have had new coaches and the fitness specialist coming in and they are going further with bringing more people to the club.
"It is like getting a new car in some respects; it takes a little while to get everything working properly.
"The sooner we can do it the sooner everything will be in gear and people will see the changes -  and hopefully not dwell too much on what has happened in the last few weeks."
He is backing Glenn Roeder to put everything in place soon and adds:
"The manager shouldn't be an issue; we have got a good squad and in any one season there are always going to be bad results, though the fewer you have the better.
"I'm confident with the squad and very confident with the manager and everyone else who is involved, so it shouldn't be too long.
"You look for a long winning run but there will always be bad results in between."
He does not wish to use the number of away games West Ham have played as an excuse and adds:
"You have always got to play away games but something will turn up; it's just unfortunate we've had two bad performances at Middlesbrough and Everton.
"We stand and fall together, which in many respects is a good sign of team unity; it is a good feeling in the camp and we will bounce back without any problem.
"My frustration is, as much as I'm there as a squad member, I'm not part of the action on the pitch."
Part of that impatience is connected with wanting to work with Tomas Repka - David has been impresses by what he has seen of him so far.
"He was outstanding in the Newcastle game; the guy is definitely fit and can only add to what we have.
"Strange to say after only one and a half games, but we missed him last Saturday."
David is still working on his rehab - and his autograph!
His signature was one of several England stars' analysed in a newspaper recently, and his was described as looking like two theatrical masks.
"Very interesting," he says, "does that mean I am mad or sane?
"I can assure you there was no theatrical intent..."
As for the fitness work - he has just got back from the hydropool with Ian Pearce - he says:
"I've had a good four days in Manchester and I'm now feeling 100% better.
"When you are with other people you can help them battle through."
Next stop is the television studio to watch England v Greece, and he says:
"I'm doing some work with the BBC so I will be at close hand, and I'm pretty sure they will win."
He will be sporting a new hair style and adds:
"I'm not going to cut it while I'm injured so it is getting longer; the purple is wearing off and I've gone for the blue now, while Joe went blond on the same day!"
