Glenn Roeder has denied reports suggesting he is about to make a
bid for Dutch striker Rick Hoogendorp.
The reports quote RKC Waalwijk technical director Marcel Brands as saying he doesn't want to lose the 26 year old to the Hammers.
The pacy striker first became known at FC Den Haag in 1994 where he scored 15 goals in 33 games, whereupon he moved to MVV - where he stayed for two seasons - and then Dordrecht 90.
He went to top flight football with RKC and also had a six month loan spell with Celta Vigo in 1999.
Estimations of his worth vary wildly from £1.5m to £5m - none of which concerns Glenn, who says:
"We, like a number of other English clubs, have been to watch him play - but we are not interested.
"He is a player we have monitored, but we certainly won't be furthering it; we have had a look and we are on to the next one.
"It has come out from the other end, but nothing will be happening as far as we are concerned."
The last two Dutch strikers to be at West Ham were Marco Boogers [who has had associations with RKC and Dordrecht] and Jeroen Boere, neither of whom were considered a success.
Jeroen ended up playing in China, but sadly his career came to a premature end after he was attacked in a bar in Japan, and lost sight of an eye.
