Cameroon international Rigobert Song has completed a loan move to
FC Cologne in Germany until the end of the season.
Comments MD Paul Aldridge: "It is very important for Rigobert that he plays for his country in the World Cup finals next summer, and to this end we have let him go where he can get regular first team football.
"We wish him all the best and, as with all our players when they go out on loan, we will keep a close eye and in constant contact with him."
Not only does the temporary move suit all parties, it may free Glenn Roeder up to bring in a loan deal of his own in the near future.
Another player who has just gone out on loan is youngster Steve Clark, who has gone to Southend, where both he and Anwar Uddin recently had trials.
He has joined the Shrimpers for a month and made an encouraging debut for them midweek against Plymouth.
