Wolves Tamed

West Ham United's under-19 side gained a creditable 3-1 win over Wolves on Saturday, while the under-17s completed the double with a 2-0 victory over the Midlanders.

A good move involving Leon Britton and Ayo Akinsete set up James Allen for the first, Freddy Eastwood lashed home following a corner for the second, and Daryl McMahon struck a half volley from the edge of the box for the final goal.

The margin could have been greater as McMahon had what looked like a good effort ruled out for offside and Wolves' consolation came after West Ham's players stopped, thinking the ball had gone out of play from a corner.

Said boss Tony Carr: "It was a good game played against aggressive, but fair, opponents. We dominated the second half."

Strikers Daniel Morris and Greg Pearson grabbed the goals for the under-17s.

Under-19s: Jackson, Khan, Tattum, Ferdinand, Ward, Britton, Akinsete, Cascione (Ritchie 85), Eastwood, Allen (Smith 70), D.McMahon. Subs unused: Cleaver, Metitri, B.McMahon.

Under-17s line-up to follow.
