With the manager who once vowed he would never give up on getting clearance for Hayden having left just a few short weeks after making his belated debut, Hayden could be forgiven for feeling somewhat unlucky.
As with all players, but particularly ones who have been signed by the previous incumbent of the hot seat, he could be forgiven for feeling a little insecure right now.
Not a bit of it.
"We just have to get on with it," says Hayden.
"It's not a good time at the moment because everyone is a bit sad and a bit disappointed Harry has left but it's changing times and we have to get three points on Saturday then get ready for next season.
"Strange things happen in football and 24 hours is a long time in the game never mind 24 days.
"This is where I wanted to be; okay, I came here because the manager pursued me, but I love it here.
"All you can do is go out and do your best and see if the new man likes you or doesn't like you.
"There was a lot of aspects to me signing here; there was one, the manager, two, the club, three, the players, four, the fans...and it's in London.
"I had a lot of friends outside of football here, and I wouldn't want to change anything.
"That said, Harry and Frank are two likeable managers and coaches, and they played a good style of football as well.
"Glenn has taken over for the last days of the tournament and we are going to go out and perform for him.
"His message is go out and get the job done against Middlesbrough, and finish off on a good note.
"Every manager has their own ideas, style of play, and way of thinking - but you just hope you are in it."
Hayden admits he is still getting used to the idea of no longer working for the man who worked so tirelessly, along with Paul Aldridge, to bring him here, and he adds:
"I admit I was shocked; it's a bit strange for me as I have never been at a club where a manager has left.
"They stuck by me for the whole eight months, though equally I could have gone elsewhere, but we both stayed loyal to each other.
"But everyone will be glad to see this season come to an end after we were playing some really good football early in the season.
"Then we got a few bad results and it was hard to get out of that slump.
"But all the boys will be refreshed for next year and it is important we all stick together and really challenging for things in years to come."
Ironically, Hayden was virtually the only senior player not the subject of speculation in the newspapers since Harry departed, and he insists:
"I can't see the team being broken up, all the lads want to stay here.
"Obviously one or two will leave and one or two arrive, but that is normal.
"I hope Frank stays with us as well."
Yeovil chairman John Fry meanwhile, has been quoted as saying he would like Harry to join them.
Although this will not happen, it has certainly given the non leaguers plenty of publicity!
