Although fans are welcome during the school holidays on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he has felt it necessary to break the routine.
"It's a change of scenery because it can be a bit boring for the players going to Chadwell Heath every day.
"So this is how we are going to break the week up.
"On Thursday we are going up to Five Lakes which is a training complex near Colchester.
"We will be there Thursday morning and afternoon, stay overnight, and have some lunch, and bring the boys back.
"That means we won't be at Chadwell Heath on Thursday this week."
As for tonight's match at Peterborough, the second of the pre-season, he says: "We're still trying to get our full fitness but I would like to see the game played in the proper manner and at the right tempo.
"I want us to be solid at the back and creating plenty up front."
