Glenn Welcomes Fans

With the school summer holidays just around the corner for kids everywhere, Hammers boss Glenn Roeder has reminded all young Hammers fans that they are more than welcome to visit the training ground on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the six-week break.

Fans will be allowed access to the training ground after 10.30am on those days and will get the chance to meet the players, who will be happy to sign autographs and pose for photographs after training.

Commenting on the new policy of admitting fans on designated days only from now on, Glenn says: "All fans will be welcome to come down during the holidays on a Tuesday or a Thursday - and we look forward to meeting them all.

"This club has got a tradition of being a family club and having a warm atmosphere, and no one wants to kill that at all.

"But you can't even get through the gates at clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal - they never, ever let their fans into the training ground.

"We don't want to go from one extreme to the other, and we realise how important our fans our to us, especially the children, who are the supporters of tomorrow.

"We want them to have the opportunity to come down and be able to meet their favourite players, but we can't have it open house as it was before.

"So we are saying that, every school holiday, be it summer, Christmas, Easter or even the half-term breaks, mums and dads can bring the kids down on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 10.30am to watch training and meet the players."
