Glenn Roeder has completed his first signing as manager - welcome back popular Frenchman, Sebastien Schemmel!
The 26-year-old right wing-back flew into London today to sign a new four-year contract with the Hammers.
And the deal represents a great bargain for Roeder who has slashed FC Metz's original asking price to a fee of only £465,000.
In the absence of Glenn, who returns from holiday tomorrow, West Ham MD Paul Aldridge says: 'Glenn has done very well to get Metz down from the £1.5 million they wanted for Seb when he first joined us on loan last season to £465,000.
'It's not as if he was nearly out of contract in France either, because I believe he had a couple of years still to run there.
'We had a good opportunity to take a close look at Seb after he arrived here in January and we're very pleased to get him back on a permanent deal.'
