James Allen was particularly busy, and a ninth minute cross for Leon Britton saw the dimunitive midfielder's shot saved by Tom Whittle.
Allen's free kick then saw Eastwood head wide before a Daryl McMahon cross flashed across the face of the goal.
A Riddle run then set up Britton to volley over before Allen forced a good save.
In a game that fizzled out somewhat from the Hammers point of view in the second half, Cascione had the best chance but chipped wide after being clear through.
