Glenn On Transfers

Glenn Roeder is confident that he will be able to bring in new recruits early next year if the situation demands it.

The Hammers boss is hoping that the injury list does not lengthen as his side continue through the busy holiday period. But if it does, he will be ready to act, and says: "We are not especially closer to bringing anyone in but that is not to say that if we needed to act we couldn't do so.

"In the past two or three weeks we have been able to put a small list of players together and if we had to go and get one, hopefully we could do it fairly quickly."

Glenn reveals that West Ham's reputation on the continent is a good one, and adds: "I'd like to think that any player we wanted to bring to West Ham would be flattered that a club such as ourselves would be interested in that player.

"Whenever I travel abroad in Europe people only have good things to say about our club - there is certainly a tradition of playing good football that even across Europe people are aware of."
