Despite reports claiming that Rennes' young midfielder Fabrice
Fernandes could be coming to Upton Park, MD Paul Aldridge says that
West Ham will not be signing him.
Fernandes, who has already had loan spells at Fulham, Rangers, and Marseille in the last 16 months, is believed to be a loan target for Southampton.
But Paul denies that the Hammers are making a formal bid for his services, and he explains:
"We are aware of Fabrice and he is one of many players that have been monitored recently.
"But I can tell our supporters that we will not be pursuing our interest in him at this stage."
The 22 year old scored two goals in 29 games for Fulham last season, but the Cottagers chose not to sign him permanently.
The attacking midfielder's loan spell at Ibrox Park was short lived, with just four games registered, and a similar arrangement at Marseille this season has seen him make only sporadic appearances.
