Rigobert Song insists that, despite missing out on honours since
leaving Liverpool, he does not wish he had stayed there.
"I have no regrets about leaving Liverpool to go to West Ham, and I think we have everything here to be a top team.
"Did I miss some medals? I'm only 25 and I want to win some with West Ham this year."
He has already played there in claret and blue since leaving Merseyside last season, as a substitute for Sebastien Schemmel in a 3-0 defeat, and this time it is Sebastien who will be sitting it out while Rigo gets the nod at right back.
"Everything is going well and we are working very hard; now we are just waiting for the Liverpool game," he says.
"I am very happy to be at West Ham and I'm trying to do everything well.
"It's not a problem going back to Liverpool; I'm happy going back because it was my first team in England, but it is nothing special."
Rigo says it is essential not to fear his old club, adding:
"Just because they beat Manchester United doesn't mean they will beat us.
"After all it was a long time since Liverpool beat Manchester United and now they have started doing it.
"Everything has its time, and it could all change on Saturday.
"I'm confident; when you do this job you need confidence, and this is my strength."
He insists, too, that the team can overcome the absence of Fredi Kanoute, adding:
"Every game is difficult; we need everybody at the moment, and we will miss Fredi.
"But sometimes we won games without him last season, and there is nothing you can do about injuries.
"We have lots of strikers at the club; if you go into the match with confidence you have a chance."
