Aliou Cisse will be given a run out against Notts. County as Glenn
Roeder continues his search for new players - but Ludovic Asuar has
returned to France.
Reveals Glenn:
"Cisse will be involved in the game at Notts. County so we will see how he goes.
"He is a defensive midfield player who has played a number of games for PSG.
"It is a chance for us to look at him, and we will assess him after the game."
Asuar, however, has gone back to Metz, and Glenn adds:
"Players get recommended to us, though they are not necessarily players that we have seen.
"Sometimes you get lucky but most times you probably don't.
"This happens at all clubs, especially at this time of year.
"The players we have looked at have all played first class football at a high standard, but other than Laurent Courtois, who has impressed and we are trying to do something with, we have not decided to take anyone on."
That means Glenn will not be looking to sign Moroccan midfielder Youssef Sefri, who he ran the rule over and has now returned home.
Reports that the player's surname was Rossi, the Dunfermline player, are incorrect.
"We are linked with everybody at the moment, and we are an easy target in that respect," says Glenn.
"It is disturbing for our supporters who are waiting for the next signings to be made, but believe me no one wants them to come in more than I do.
"We do need to sign those players, but they have to be first team players that can go straight into the side."
And, amidst a report suggesting Rigobert Song might have been offered to French clubs this summer, Glenn refutes the suggestion quite clearly.
He says he does not envisage any major sales in the foreseeable future, stressing:
"I don't expect any outgoings in the next few weeks or months - it is the incomings that are concerning me most of all.
"It is a huge concern but I will keep searching and hopefully the players I am looking for will turn up."
Although Glenn has looked to bring home based players to the club, he admits it has presented huge difficulties.
"We all know when we look around at the clubs in the Premiership who their best players are," he says.
"Everyone is trying to keep their best players, and we are finding it very difficult to get these clubs to sell their better ones.
"That then sends you abroad more, and we are going in that direction."
