West Ham United U21s forward Josh Landers has been included in the Scotland U19s squad for two fixtures in October.
Landers receives his third call-up to the U19s age group following a month which saw him score eight goals in just three starts for Club and country.
After scoring his first two goals for the Irons' U21s in his first Premier League 2 start at the end of August, in a 4-2 win at Sunderland, Landers travelled with Scotland U19s for three internationals in Slovenia in September. He featured in all three, starting the final two, a 2-1 defeat against Kazakhstan where he scored the opener, and a 7-1 win over United Arab Emirates where he netted four.
Having picked up a minor hamstring injury during the international break, he returned to action for our young Hammers last Friday, when he netted a 25-minute hat-trick against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Unsurprisingly, Scotland U19s Head Coach Neil MacFarlane named Landers in his squad of 23 that will take on Italy in a double header of friendlies in October.
Scotland will be hosted at the Antonio Molinari Stadium and the Stadio Mario Lancellotta for the two games, which take place on Friday 10 October and Monday 13 October, respectively.
The matches will serve as preparation for the qualifiers for next summer's UEFA U19 European Championships, which get underway in November, with Scotland in a group with England, Lithuania and Latvia.
