West Ham United opened their home campaign for 2023/24 in style with a thrilling 3-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers had to dig deep after Carney Chukwuemeka cancelled out Nayef Aguerd's early opener, but Alphonse Areola's penalty save from Enzo Fernández instilled the belief in David Moyes' men that they could claim victory.
Michail Antonio re-established a lead eight minutes into the second period, and although Nayef Aguerd saw red after collecting a second booking midway through the half, Paquetá's late penalty settled the contest.
