Fans flock to IRON MEN Store signing

To celebrate the release of IRON MEN, which is ON SALE NOW, West Ham United fans flocked to the Stadium Store on Thursday to meet the three heroes of the final game at the Boleyn Ground.

Diafra Sakho, Michail Antonio and Winston Reid were all on hand to sign copies of the new DVD, which tells the historical and emotional story of the Club’s final season at their old home and the move to the fantastic London Stadium.

The trio were goalscorers in the ultimate home game last season as Slaven Bilic’s men were 3-2 winners over Manchester United in the unforgettable Boleyn Ground finale.

Excited Hammers at the Store signing were also able to have their photo taken with the players, who were delighted to repay the fans’ fantastic support throughout the first season at London Stadium with the opportunity to meet them.

After the signing, Antonio said: “It was really enjoyable. It's always great to meet the fans and they've shown great support again.

“We've signed a load of Iron Men DVDs, and everyone was talking about the final game and the scenes in the film.

“If you're a West Ham fan, it's a must-buy. The final game at the Boleyn, the history, the atmosphere, and the fans - it's fantastic.

“It shows what this club is all about, sticking together through good times and bad.

Plenty of fans arrived at the Store to meet their heroes

“It's been a tough season but the fans have been behind us throughout. There have been record season ticket renewals this week, which shows how behind us they are, and the boys are determined to do them proud.

“We want to finish this season strongly and then look forward to next year. We are building something here and it’s an exciting future for everyone.”

Looking back to the memorable night under the lights against the Red Devils, Winston Reid said: “It's a long time ago — I can't really remember how the old stadium looks! It was so nice to see it on the DVD, which is fantastic.

“It's a really good movie, especially for fans who have been coming to the stadium for a long time to relive the moments — it's nice.

“So it was also great to meet some of those fans today at the Store signing today, to make their copies of the DVD even more special for them.”

Supporter Manpreet Johal, from Custom House, attended with six-month old daughter Heidi and said: “The final game at the Boleyn Ground is something that will stay deep in my heart forever, and to be here to meet the three goalscorers from that game and get them to sign the Iron Men DVD is amazing.

“I was at the premiere recently and there were grown men crying – me included! It’s a fantastic film and the perfect way to remember the Boleyn Ground.

“Now our future is at London Stadium and I hope Heidi can enjoy some equally great memories here. I’d take her to a game now if I could but I don’t think my wife would allow it!”

IRON MEN tells the story through the voices of Joint-Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold, Vice-Chairman Karren Brady, local boy-made-captain Noble, Bilic, Hollywood actor and lifelong Hammer Ray Winstone, the local traders and most importantly, through the thousands of fans who have stuck by the Club through thick and thin.
