Sheki again ole ole! Shekiera Martinez took the Barclays Women’s Super League by storm last term, and her campaign only began in January.
The WSL’s Rising Star of 2024/25, who spent the first half of the season on loan at SC Freiburg, bagged ten goals in 12 league matches, finishing the term joint third in the top-scoring charts.
Germany U23 international Martinez was rewarded for her goals and performances by becoming the first Hammer to win a WSL Player of the Month award - which she clinched in March and April - before being crowned West Ham United women’s team’s Young Hammer of the Year.
One of her standout performances came away at Crystal Palace on a memorable afternoon for both the 23-year-old and the Irons, as Rehanne Skinner’s side ran out 7-1 winners to chalk up the Club’s biggest-ever victory in the WSL.
Martinez was unplayable, netting on four occasions - including a blistering first-half hat-trick - on a sunny afternoon at the VBS Community Stadium.
