West Ham United can confirm that Academy defender Regan Clayton has joined National League side Braintree Town on a short-term youth loan.
The 20-year-old, who played every minute of our FA Youth Cup-winning campaign in 2022/23, will spend his second loan move away from the Club with Braintree until his 21st birthday on 9 November.
Last term, having returned to competitive action following a nine-month period on the sidelines due to a knee injury, the left-back spent the second half of last season on loan with Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League.
Now, after enjoying a full pre-season, Clayton’s continued development for the U21s, for whom he’s made four appearances this season in all competitions, has earned him a loan move and the chance to gain regular senior experience at Cressing Road.
Braintree, who also have FA Youth Cup-winning goalkeeper Mason Terry on loan for the 2025/26 campaign, are currently 21st in the National League, but will hope to make a charge up the table as they seek to retain their fifth-tier status for another season.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Regan all the best in his loan spell with Braintree Town and looks forward to seeing his continued development over the coming months.
