Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United women's team
Barclays Women's Super League, Broadfield Stadium, Crawley, Sunday 21 September 2025, 12noon BST

For our third fixture of the 2025/26 season, West Ham United women’s team make the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday.

The Hammers travel to Broadfield Stadium in Crawley vying for a first victory of the fresh campaign, having faced London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the opening two matches.

Despite successive defeats, there have been positives to take from both displays, in particular how resolute the backline was against Spurs on the opening day and the bravery shown against the Gunners at Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Rehanne Skinner’s side will take those positives into the clash with the Seagulls, who themselves are searching for their first three points of the new season after a goalless draw with Aston Villa and a 2-1 loss at Manchester City.

Here’s everything you need to know about Sunday’s encounter with Brighton…

Tickets...

Tickets for this weekend's game can no longer be purchased online. However, they will be available on the day, subject to availability.

Any remaining tickets available in the away section on matchday will be sold at the Broadfield Stadium Ticket Office. This is located behind the West Stand next to reception.

There is a taxi rank outside Crawley station, some of which are wheelchair accessible, and you will be charged by the mile.

There is no parking available at the stadium, but there are two free parking options close to the ground.

As you come towards the stadium off the A23, look out for Broadfield Park on your left. There is free parking in the William Reed Car Park. Once you are parked at William Reed, a path at the rear of the car park will allow access to the south end of the stadium.

Another free parking option is available just a few minutes walk from the stadium on Brighton Road. These are signposted as you approach the stadium. Once parked at this location, you can use the public underpass to cross underneath the underpass, which will take you to the north entrance of the ground. This walk will take roughly five minutes.

Opposition...

As mentioned, Brighton are without a win from their opening two matches of the campaign, having most recently suffered a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on Friday night. The Seagulls took the lead at Joie Stadium through Frank Kirby after just 14 minutes, but the Citizens struck two second-half goals.

The south coast club recorded eight league victories on their way to achieving their highest-ever WSL finish last term as Dario Vidošić’s side ended the campaign fifth in the standings, scoring a club record number of goals in a WSL season (35) in the process.

Seven of those goals came from 2024 signing Nikita Parris, but the 31-year-old departed Brighton for newly-promoted London City Lionesses in the summer. Defender Poppy Pattinson also made the move to the Pride, as 13 players departed before the transfer window shut on 4 September.

To fill the gaps in the squad, the Seagulls made eight signings in the summer, including the loan of Arsenal’s Michelle Agyemang for the second successive season. The 19-year-old enjoyed a stellar summer with England, playing a starring role in their UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 triumph as she scored crucial late goals against Sweden and Italy to help them to the showpiece against Spain.

Another arrival to the south coast was goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who, like Agyemang, shone on the international stage over the summer. The 24-year-old helped Nigeria clinch their tenth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title and then put in a Player of the Match display in Brighton’s WSL opener against Aston Villa.

Seagulls manager Dario Vidošić, who was appointed in the summer of 2024, made history with the club in his maiden campaign in the WSL.

The 38-year-old spent two seasons at Melbourne City in Australia's A-League in his first managerial role before moving to the Amex, where he replaced interim boss Mikey Harris, who finished ninth with the Seagulls last term after the sacking of Melissa Phillips in February 2024.

As a player, Vidošić made more than 20 appearances for Australia’s national team and played professionally in Germany, Switzerland, China, New Zealand and India.

Previous Meetings...

Both WSL encounters between the two teams last season were high scoring. At the AMEX in November, Brighton edged to a 3-2 victory with Kirby scoring the winner after a Katrina Gorry brace brought the Hammers back on level terms after they fell two goals down.

But at Chigwell Construction Stadium in February, Skinner’s side ran out 3-1 winners after goals from Shekiera Martinez, Riko Ueki and Viviane Asseyi.

Of the 19 meetings between the sides, the Seagulls have won ten, whilst the Hammers have won six.

The teams will soon face each other in the Subway® Women's League Cup on Wednesday 8 October in east London, with kick-off at 7pm BST.
