Joe Scanlon joined the Academy at U9s before developing through the age-groups and signing his scholarship in the summer of 2025.

A highly technical player who is eager to join the attack from the left-back position, Scanlon has high energy and an excellent range of passing.

As an U16, Scanlon was already a regular feature in the U18s squad. He made his U18 Premier League debut against Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2024 as a 15-year-old, creating the equalising goal in a 1-1 draw.

In his 16 appearances for Lauris Coggin's U18s during the 2024/25 season, Scanlon registered three assists and scored his first goal in a 4-2 defeat to Southampton.
