West Ham United crossed the capital to face Chelsea in their final London derby of the 2023/24 Premier League season on Sunday - and were soundly beaten by five goals without reply.

Chelsea had been in superb form in SW6 in recent weeks, winning eight of their previous ten Premier League matches, and they made it nine out of eleven in style.

Meanwhile, West Ham had won here just once in their previous 17 Premier League visits - courtesy of Aaron Cresswell and David Martin in November 2019 - and David Moyes had never won here as a manager in 18 previous attempts with his various clubs.

Mauricio Pochettino's side extended those forgettable runs as they took an early lead through Cole Palmer's first-time finish inside 15 minutes. Jarrod Bowen then hit the woodwork from a corner as the Irons sought a response, but his fellow England international Conor Gallagher volleyed in Chelsea's second on the half-hour mark.

And it was 3-0 six minutes later when Thiago Silva's header was helped in by Noni Madueke, before Gallagher and then Bowen rattled the crossbar at each end.

It took less than three minutes of the second half for Chelsea to add a fourth as Madueke ran in behind and squared for Nicolas Jackson to tap in, before Bowen hit the woodwork for a third time and Senegal striker Jackson ran through to add a fifth ten minutes from full-time.
