Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 35 hints and tips

West Ham United return to home Premier League action against Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime, looking to get back to winning ways and to end a four-match winless run in all competitions.

Two successive defeats in the league – against Fulham and Crystal Palace last time out, either side of a UEFA Europa League quarter-final exit to Bayer Leverkusen – have left the Hammers yearning a return to top form, as they aim for a strong end to the season.

David Moyes’ charges will be wary of the threats posed by the visitors despite a run of poor form in recent weeks, as a first defeat at Goodison Park against Everton since 2010 on Wednesday night inflicted a major blow to the Reds’ title hopes.

With so much at stake, both sides will be full of individuals looking to provide the touch of magic required to make the difference on the day, meaning there are a number of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) decisions to be made in the lead up to kick-off.

The Double Gameweek 35 transfer deadline is set for 11am on Saturday 27 April, ahead of a feast of weekend and midweek action that starts with West Ham’s clash against Liverpool at London Stadium.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2023/24 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round…

Kudus ready to shine…

When you’re looking to end a winless run of form, you often need that little bit of magic.

And you wouldn’t bet against Mohammed Kudus (£6.8m) producing that on Saturday.

Kudus

The Ghanaian has 17 goals and five assists from 44 appearances in all competitions this term – taking a total of 36 shots – and surely, he will be back on the scoresheet soon for the Hammers.

He registered a 13-point haul in the Irons’ 4-3 defeat against Newcastle last month with a goal and an assist.

As seasons go, to say 2023/24 has been a good one for Jarrod Bowen (7.7m) would be something of an understatement.

The 27-year-old, who could make his 200th West Ham United appearance against Liverpool on Saturday, has scored 19 goals in 41 appearances this term and has been an integral part in the Club’s recent success.

Bowen is the Club's top scorer in 2023/24, and has registered 165 FPL points this season, more than any other West Ham player by some margin, including an outrageous 20-point gameweek against Brentford in February.

Opposition watch: Liverpool

Forward Mohamed Salah will be looking to lead the charge for Jürgen Klopp’s side on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah x Liverpool

The Egyptian captain is somewhat on a down run of form, but the visitors will need their key players to rise at London Stadium. Despite not netting in his last three matches, Salah remains the Reds’ top scorer this season, having scored 17 goals in 28 Premier League appearances.

Other options for the Liverpool include defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m), who is considered one of the best full-backs in the world.

The England defender marked his first start on his return from injury with a superb free-kick against Fulham last weekend and, while he has endured an injury-hit campaign, Alexander-Arnold remains a major threat going forward for Liverpool.

And with the 25-year-old being owned by 9.8% of FPL managers ahead of this weekend’s clash, many are expecting another bold showing from the right-back.
