Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 13 hints and tips

West Ham United are back in action after the November international break - and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will again cast an eye over Hammers players for this Gameweek.

Gameweek 13 will see David Moyes' men travel to Burnley on Saturday looking for a third straight win in all competitions.

Ahead of the international break, West Ham beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 and they seek to grab their sixth league win of the season this weekend.

Make sure you note the FPL transfer deadline, as Gameweek 13 will start on Saturday 25 November 2023 at 11am.

On whufc.com and our Official Programme, we’ll be giving you tips and tricks and Hammers to watch across the season!

This week, all eyes are on Edson Álvarez.

What can Álvarez bring to your team?

Perhaps a rogue player to pick out, but Edson Álvarez (£5.0m) has been one of the Hammers’ most important players so far this season.

A steady presence in front of the defence, the Mexico midfielder is ranked in the top 50 per cent for points per match, although there is evidence he can push on.

While Álvarez has picked up five points against Aston Villa for his first Claret and Blue assist, the midfielder is mainly known for his defensive attributes.

Still, Álvarez has shown he has the ability to affect the game at the other end of the pitch too.

Recently, Álvarez scored a dramatic, vital, last-gasp equaliser for Mexico to help his country secure a thrilling penalty shootout win over Honduras in the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals.

Mexico ultimately prevailed 4-2 on penalties to advance to the semi-finals, with the West Ham No19 more than playing his part.

Now, the challenge is to bring that goalscoring form to the Club scene.

The Hammers’ head-to-head record with Burnley should give FPL bosses with West Ham players in their team confidence that Álvarez will be part of a positive showing.

The Irons are unbeaten in their last four matches against the Clarets.

Opposition Watch: Burnley

Josh Brownhill (£4.7m) has proved a bargain FPL buy this season – returning two goals in his eight Premier League starts.

Brownhill scored in Burnley’s 3-1 defeat by Arsenal last time out and will hope to score his first goal against West Ham this weekend.

Another option could be James Trafford (£4.5m), having started the Club’s first 12 matches of the season between the sticks.

He is yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season, however.
