James Ward Prowse - the first interview

Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek Seven hints and tips

West Ham United seek a fourth win in a row - and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will again cast an eye over Hammers this weekend.

A tough match against visiting Newcastle awaits, although David Moyes' men will be looking to push further up the table – and hopefully, earn a few FPL points too, with a positive result at London Stadium.

With a lunchtime kick-off this weekend, make sure you note the slightly earlier FPL transfer deadline. Gameweek Seven is set to start on Saturday 7 October 2023 at 11am.

On whufc.com and our Official Programme, we’ll be giving you tips and tricks and Hammers to watch across the season!

There is no doubt that James Ward-Prowse (£6.5m) has settled to life quickly in East London.

The new No7 has become a regular figure in the middle of the park – and a fan-favourite too – following a string of impressive showings in Claret & Blue.

Goal contributions have followed for the 28-year-old and FPL managers have taken notice of his performances in the early stages of 2022/23.

With Ward-Prowse firing, his ownership has surged to 13.5 per cent, making him the highest-owned West Ham player in the game. He has also seen a price rise of £0.3m from his starting price of £6.0m.

So far this season, JWP has registered two goals and five assists in his first seven games as a Hammer, returning 35 points in just six Premier League outings.

An FPL stalwart, Ward-Prowse has returned over 140 points in each of his last three PL campaigns – including a best of 159 points, ten goals and five assists, in 2021/22. He is set to continue that run in East London following an impressive start, then.

Opposition Watch: Newcastle United

As it stands, Newcastle United have two of the six highest-priced strikers in FPL.

In Alexander Isak (£7.5m) and Callum Wilson (£7.8m) FPL bosses have a selection dilemma, with both strikers unlikely to play together, but instead rotating due to the system played by Eddie Howe as well as the impact of the UEFA Champions League on the Magpies' schedule.

Callum Wilson scores for Newcastle

Still, both strikers have been in a rich vein of form already this campaign. Wilson has scored three Premier League goals – and will be buoyed by a record against West Ham that has seen the forward net 12 goals in 13 head-to-head games.

Isak, meanwhile, has scored four goals - including a brace against Aston Villa. But with Wilson missing the win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening, it could be that the Sweden striker leads the line in East London four days later.

Another player to watch is Kieran Trippier (£6.7m), who has seen a return of 38 points in his last three league outings.
