Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek Four hints and tips

An unbeaten start to 2023/24 means plenty of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will cast an eye over West Ham United players ahead of Gameweek Four.

Back-to-back wins over Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea – matches that have seen the Irons score six goals in total – has created plenty of optimism as David Moyes’ squad head to Premier League newbies Luton Town on Friday night.

Make sure you note an early FPL transfer deadline then, with Gameweek Four starting on Friday 1 September 2023 at 6.30pm.

On whufc.com and our Official Programme, we’ll be giving you tips and tricks and Hammers to watch across the season!

Antonio! Antonio! Antonio!

Michail Antonio (£6m) continues to be amongst the FPL points, having more than played his part in West Ham United’s recent win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Leading the line for the third successive match, Antonio showed his class and experience on Saturday evening when he shrugged off Lewis Dunk and slammed an unstoppable shot low into the left corner.

His goal – the Hammers third at the Amex Stadium – saw the No9 register seven points against the Seagulls, taking his season total to 17 points.

As it stands, only four strikers have higher points-per-match return than Antonio, who also scored in West Ham’s 3-1 win over Chelsea the previous Gameweek.

But, that is the least we should expect from a player who has been a constant returner over the past few seasons, and scored 14 goals in all competitions last term.

Antonio has recorded 100 points in six of his last eight campaigns, with a best career return of 140 points in 2021/22.

Priced at £6m too, Antonio is continuing to show himself as a valuable FPL asset.

Opposition Watch

Following a difficult set of opening fixtures, Luton Town will seek to get their 2023/24 campaign underway, with fixtures against West Ham United, Fulham, and Wolverhampton Wanderers to come over the next three Gameweeks.

Experienced stopper Tim Krul (£4.5m) might be a player to watch for the Hatters. Signed from Norwich City, he has recorded over 100 points in three of his previous Premier League seasons and could make his Luton debut on Friday.

Burke

Luton’s strikers include Elijah Adebayo (£5m) and Carlton Morris (£5.5m). Morris scored on opening day against Brighton & Hove Albion, having struck 20 goals in the 2022/23 EFL Championship and been named in the second-tier PFA Team of the Season earlier this week.

Former Hammer Dan Potts (£4.0m), meanwhile, is currently sidelined with an ankle injury. Reece Burke (£4.0m) and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (£4.9m), also previously of West Ham, have also featured for Luton this season.
