Niclas Füllkrug

Team News | Nuno offers update on Füllkrug and Mavropanos

West Ham United Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo has offered an update on the progress of Dinos Mavropanos and Niclas Füllkrug as the pair work their way back from injury ahead of Saturday's meeting with Burnley.

Defender Mavropanos has been absent since suffering a leg injury against Brentford on 20 October, while striker Füllkrug has missed the last three games with a muscle issue.

However, they are both back in training at Rush Green and Nuno revealed in his pre-match press conference that he expects them to be available again following the imminent international break.

"Both of them improving, starting to work at different stages," Nuno explained.

"Dinos is still on individual work, while Niclas is progressing with the group - not all the parts of the training session, so we have to manage individual programmes, treatments [and] joining the group.

"Now comes the international break [after Burnley] and I think after that I'm positive that everything's going to be OK."

Elsewhere in his squad, Nuno said that he is dealing with a number of knocks following last weekend's 3-1 victory over Newcastle and he will have to wait until Friday for a clearer picture for his team selection.

"After a football match there's always knocks, there's always problems that we have to deal with during the week," he added.

"But let's see if we still have [them] tomorrow and let's see what's available for the match."
