Pie & Mash! West Ham United bring a taste of East London to New York City!

New Yorkers were given a real taste of East London as West Ham United legend Anton Ferdinand was on hand to hand out classic pie and mash in the heart of the City.

With the Hammers kicking off the Premier League Summer Series at MetLife Stadium against Manchester United on Saturday evening, the Club and Official Sleeve Partner Intuit QuickBooks marked the occasion in style.

Just a stone's throw from the world famous Rockefeller Centre in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, Ferdinand and Hammerhead met - and ate - with fans, posed for pictures and spread Claret and Blue spirit to fans and locals alike.

With an energetic atmosphere in the Big Apple, fans truly enjoyed sampling the iconic dish and learning more about the Club’s local heritage.

The Pie & Mash truck then headed to Kearny, New Jersey, to meet over 100 students at Washington Elementary, as the excitement continued in the USA with the countdown to the Premier League Summer Series draws to a close.

A smiling Ferdinand said with a full stomach: “It was brilliant to bring a taste of East London right to the heart of New York City, the local and our fans absolutely loved it which was great to see. Pie and mash is an iconic part of our London roots, so it was a nice way to teach some of the good people of New York City about the and our community. We have a great relationship with Intuit QuickBooks, so it was amazing to have their support in delivering this memorable moment.

“Our fans in New York, New Jersey and across the USA proudly fly the flag for the Club all year round, I can’t wait to get to the MetLife stadium tomorrow evening as we kick-off the Premier League Summer Series in an iconic arena. I’m sure our fans will bring the atmosphere in another landmark moment for the Club in the USA.”

Ferdinand continued his trip across the Tri-State area to Smithfield Hall pub in the Big Apple's W 25th Street, the home of the NYC Hammers, for a Q&A, meet and greet and party to build excitement for tomorrow’s big kick-off at the MetLife Stadium.
