Internationals | Sáez and Paví victorious in CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League matches

West Ham United women’s team defender Camila Sáez played all 90 minutes as she helped Chile record the first victory of their CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League campaign courtesy of an emphatic 5-0 scoreline at home to Bolivia.

On Tuesday evening in Rancagua, our No17 - who is currently on loan at Bristol City - and her side were ruthless in the first half, taking a four-goal advantage into the break after an early Sonya Keefe brace was followed by Fernanda Pinilla and Yastin Jimenez strikes.

Chile picked up where they left off and netted their fifth when the second half was less than a minute old - this time Nayadet Lopez got in on the act to leave La Roja second in the early standings.

Luis Mena’s side will resume their CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League campaign, which acts as qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, against Peru in the November international break.

So far, the only team to have won both of their opening matches is Manuela Paví’s Colombia, and the winger featured as a second-half substitute in their 2-1 victory over Ecuador on Tuesday night.

Our No11 was introduced to proceedings just before the hour with the score level at Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado in Quito, and she was soon celebrating as Daniela Montoya scored a stunning 71st-minute volley from the edge of the box to seal the three points.

Colombia will look to keep up their 100 per cent record in the first edition of the competition against Bolivia in November.
