Mads Hermansen

Internationals | Hermansen included in Denmark squad

West Ham United goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has been included in the Denmark squad for their final two pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C qualifiers against Belarus and Scotland to be played in November.

Denmark go into their last two ties top of Group C with ten points from four matches played, but ahead of Scotland only on goal difference, meaning they will need to win their final two games to guarantee qualification for next summer’s tournament in North America.

Brian Riemer’s squad host Belarus at Parken in Copenhagen on Saturday 15 November at 7.45pm BST, then travel to Glasgow to tackle Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday 18 November at 7.45pm. The latter game will be streamed live in the UK on BBC iPlayer.

Having been a regular in the Denmark squad over the last couple of years, Hermansen is still waiting to make his first senior appearance for the 1992 European champions, and he will be looking to push compatriots Kasper Schmeichel and Filip Jörgensen for gametime again this month.

Denmark have previously qualified for the World Cup finals on six occasions, reaching the quarter-finals in 1998 and round of 16 in 1986, 2002 and 2018. They departed at the group stage in Qatar in 2022.
