Exctiting young midfielder Mateus Fernandes became West Ham United's fifth summer signing on Friday when he completed his move from Southampton.
The Portugal U21 international put pen to paper on a five-year deal in east London, having come through the ranks at European giants Sporting Lisbon before impressing hugely during his year-long stay on the English south coast, where he made 46 appearances in all competitions and won the Saints' 2024/25 Fans' Player of the Season award.
After sealing his switch to the Hammers, Fernandes was swiftly introduced to his new teammates at Rush Green before hitting the training pitches for the first time, ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
