Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history...

Marlon Harewood scored a goal in each half as West Ham United defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in the Championship on this day in 2004.

Harewood converted from the spot for the opener after Hoops' defender Dan Shittu's challenge on Luke Chadwick.

Harewood missed a good chance and QPR's Kevin Gallen was denied by Stephen Bywater before substitute Kevin McLeod volleyed Rangers level.

But the Hammers would not be denied in front of 31,365 at the Boleyn Ground as Harewood secured the points with a fierce shot after good work by Carl Fletcher and Bobby Zamora.

The Irons would go on to win promotion via a dramatic Play-Off final win over Preston North End at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
