West Ham United is pleased to confirm that Northern Ireland youth international Callum Leacock has joined the Club’s U18s squad on scholarship terms.
The 16-year-old defender arrives from Linfield, where he spent the past seven years developing within the academy of the Northern Ireland Football League champions.
Capable of playing at centre-back or full-back, Leacock now joins Lauris Coggin’s U18s side at Chadwell Heath, where he will continue his footballing development as a full-time scholar, receiving coaching, education and mentoring.
Arriving to represent West Ham United U18s from Northern Ireland, like compatriot Joel Kerr, Leacock is also a talented Gaelic football player. He concluded his time with Derry-based O’Donovan Rossa GAC Magherafelt with a man of the match performance in his final game for the club, the Ulster U16s final.
Like Kerr, Leacock has also impressed at international level, making his Northern Ireland U17s debut in October 2023 and going on to feature in all 16 of their fixtures since.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Callum on signing scholarship terms with the Club and wish him every success as he begins his career in Claret and Blue.
