Saki Kumagai joined West Ham United women's team on Friday 4 September 2026.
Joining from fellow Barclays Women's Super League side London City Lionesses, the 35-year-old penned a one-year contract with the Club to become Rita Guarino’s tenth signing of the summer transfer window.
Japan international Kumagai brings a wealth of experience and success to the Hammers, having lifted a plethora of trophies during her illustrious career to date, including five UEFA Women’s Champions Leagues and nine top-flight titles across France, Germany and Italy. A player who is equally comfortable in defence or midfield, Kumagai also has a number of individual accolades in her cabinet, having been crowned Asian Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2019 and won the Women’s Golden Foot in 2024.
