Japan international Riko Ueki joined West Ham United in September 2023

The forward had spent seven years with Japanese WE League side Tokyo Verdy Beleza.

Ueki made over 130 appearances for Beleza and helped them win four Nadeshiko League titles, four League Cups and two WE League Outstanding Player Awards, before moving to east London.

A hard-working striker, Ueki has been a virtual ever-present in Claret and Blue.

At international levels, she starred as an age-group player, featured in every tie and scored twice at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, then finished as leading scorer as Japan won the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia.

Ueki signed a new one-year deal on 9 September, extending her contract at the Club until the summer of 2027...Assisted twice in our 3-1 win over Everton in November...Scored her first goal of the season at home to Liverpool in December... Scored in our Subway® Women's League Cup clash at home to Manchester City on 21 December... Netted in our 3-0 Adobe Women's FA Cup success at Newcastle United on 16 January... Won the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup with Japan in March, taking home the competition's Golden Boot with six goals after she averaged a goal every 37 minutes at the tournament... Netted stunning late goal against Aston Villa in a 2-0 win on 4 May... Played 25 times across the season in all competitions.

2024/25

Scored West Ham United’s first goal of the Barclays Women’s Super League goal of the campaign against Liverpool… Scored against Tottenham Hotspur on 3 November 2023… Netted in a 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion… Ended the season with six goals and six assists.

2023/24

Made West Ham United debut at home to Manchester City on 1 October 2023… Scored first West Ham United goal in a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on 8 October 2023… Scored seven goals in all competitions, registering one assist… Crowned Young Hammer of the Year in her debut season in Claret and Blue.
