Full-back Regan Clayton joined West Ham United at the age of ten.

After signing his scholarship in the summer of 2021, Clayton ended the 2021/22 season with 26 appearances in all competitions for the U18s and two for the U23s, before signing professional terms with the Club.

The 2022/23 season was a significant one for Clayton. The defender was involved in two first-team squads, sitting on the bench for both UEFA Europa Conference League Group B clashed with FCSB, and made 31 appearances for the U21s in all competitions.

Clayton's age permitted him to continue to represent the U18s, with the full-back featuring seven times in the side's U18 Premier League South winning campaign in 2022/23. The defender also started all six FA Youth Cup ties, including the 5-1 victory over Arsenal in the final.

During the 2023/24 season, Clayton made 17 appearances for the U21s, registering four assists, as they finished second in the Premier League 2 regular season and reached the last 16 of the EFL Trophy.

He signed a new two-year contract in the summer of 2024, but was by that time recuperating from a knee injury suffered in a Premier League International Cup semi-final against PSV Eindhoven in April 2024.

Clayton returned competitive action in January 2025. Following a handful of appearances for the U21s, Clayton joined National League club Dagenham & Redbridge on loan until the end of the season.

After a full pre-season with the U21s in summer 2025, he began the campaign as a regular starter for the U21s before joining National League club Braintree Town on loan.

In addition to his loan experience with the Iron, Clayton made a further 26 appearances for our U21s - earning a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in April - and featured in all six games as Greg Lincoln's side finished runners-up in the National League Cup.
