West Ham United’s official eSports representatives, Jamboo and Danny Taylor, are set to participate in the FIFA eClub World Cup qualification group stages.

The Hammers have been draw into group Europe 1 and will face nine other sides over the weekend for a spot in the Finals of the eClub World Cup.

Only one team from the ten involved can reach the Finals, and PS4 player Taylor and Xbox1 player Jamboo are ready for the competition.

The two are aware that the group is filled with potentially tricky opposition, but are prepared to put their best foot forward to progress.

“I’m really excited for this competition,” Jamboo told whufc.com. “We’ve got a tough group, and there’s teams in there that will be difficult to get past. But Danny and I are confident in our ability and we know we can win these games.”

Taylor added: “There’s some hard teams in our group but there’s absolutely no reason at all that we can’t win it all. So long as Jamie and I play well we can do it.

“We would love to claim a place in the FIFA eClub World Cup finals. It’s one of the biggest tournaments of the year and it would be amazing for us to get West Ham there.”

The Irons will play the likes of FC Dynamo Kyiv, FSV Mainz 05, and UNILAD in the qualifying stages, and both Taylor and Jamboo know there are some difficult opponents to come in this weekend’s competition.

Taylor continued: “It’s going to be tough. UNIiLAD, if you asked the majority of people, would be the favourites for the entire tournament, not just the group. But, in a one-off game, there’s no reason we can’t beat them and finish first and progress.”

Jamboo added: “I think, reading down the list, there are some top teams that could win not just our group, but the entire competition.

“But anyone that we come up against at this level is going to be tricky and tough to best. We’ve just got to play our normal game and I’m sure we can come out on top.”
