Martinez joins Oxford on loan

Toni

West Ham United forward Toni Martinez has joined Oxford United on loan until the end of the season.

Martinez has been one of the star performers for the PL2 side this season scoring 12 goals in 13 competitive games.

The Hammers management have recognised his impressive performances and feel he will benefit from valuable first-team experience as he looks to help the League One side push towards the play-offs.

Martinez will join up with Michael Appleton's squad this week and could go straight into contention for the big Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Newcastle on Saturday.

The Spanish forward joined the Club from Valencia back in July 2016 and hit the ground running straight away in a claret and blue shirt when he scored on his U23 debut in the 3-0 win over Stoke City in August.

Martinez has continued his rich vein of form in front of goal and everyone at the Club wishes Toni the best of luck for his loan spell at Oxford United.
