Highlights - Brighton & HA 3-0 West Ham United PL2

Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 West Ham United PL2

FT: The referee blows for full-time and for the third time this season, the Hammers fail to get the better of Brighton. In truth it was a pretty even game, but the hosts simply put away their chances. The Hammers had more shots and possession, but could not find a way past Sanchez in goal. They'll get one more attempt to beat the Seagulls this season when they face them in the Premier League Cup but tonight, the hosts are 3-0 winners.

87: We've had more shots on and off target than our hosts...

85: Quina is next to have a go. His goal-bound effort is blocked at the last moment by Dallison!

84: The Hammers want at least one this evening. They're pushing and Grady Diangana shoots well from the left, but Sanchez is equal to the curler.

83: What a goal that would have been! Reece Oxford stands up a lovely chip to the back stick and it falls to Browne who volleys well with plenty of power. It flies just wide and hits the post behind the goal.

78: Fletcher has a great chance. The forward gets to the front post to meet a Joe Powell cross, but he heads over from close range. The Hammers have actually had a number of decent chances and probably more possession tonight. It doesn't feel like a 3-0 game at this moment in time.

76: Brighton are looking for more goals. Connolly is denied a hat-trick by Trott, who saves well with his feet.

74: The Hammers bring on Grady Diangana for Alfie Lewis.

73: Third goal for Brighton. A low cross finds Connolly in the box who finishes beautifully first time on his left-foot. That could be the points for the hosts.

69: Final change for the hosts. Jesse Starkey enters the field and Ben White comes off.

61: Liam Rosenior is now going to be replaced by Jordan Davies, while for the Hammers, Kemp is replaced by Joe Powell.

59: Browne delivers a lovely corner but Fletcher heads straight at the keeper. He generated plenty of power with the attempt and either side of the stopper, it could have been a different outcome.

55: Good chance for Brighton. Dallison rises highest from a corner but heads wide from eight yards. Then, they attack once again but Bjordal's cross - or possibly skewed shot - is cleared from danger.

54: Long ball from Oxford sees Fletcher in behind the defence, but as he is about to finish, the linesman's flag goes up on the far side. It can't have been far off.

52: Sub for Brighton. On comes Dylan Barnett for the injured James Tilley.

49: Two crosses from players in claret and blue, but two simple takes for Sanchez. First, Fletcher delivers low from the right before Martinez does so deep from the left. Both are claimed by the stopper.

47: Straight away, one almost runs for Marcus Browne. Nutmegging a defender, he breaks into the six yard box but the keeper just about gets there first.

46: Let's turn this one around West Ham United! We're back underway.

HT: That's it for the first half. The Hammers are well and truly in this game but they find themselves one down thanks to Aaron Connolly's early opener. 1-0 to the hosts.

45: Good spell of West Ham pressure, but they can't work the space to shoot. Kemp's final cross is a little deep, before Connolly fouls Oxford and goes into the ref's book.

43: Two proper, good old-fashioned tackles just there. First, Barclay wins a brilliant challenge on Domingos Quina before Martinez chases back and nicks the ball away from Brighton's skipper Hutchinson. Blood and thunder stuff before the break.

41: Just a few minutes until the break here. Can Terry Westley's lads get back on level terms before the half time whistle?

34: Another half chance for the Hammers. Kyle Knoyle plays a lovely ball over the top of the defence to Fletcher, but the striker is met by keeper Sanchez as he looks to take it down. It falls to Fletcher still, but defender White denies the forward from a tight angle.

29: First clear cut chance for West Ham! Dan Kemp finds some space to deliver the cross from the right hand side, and it's met at the back post by Moses Makasi. Sanchez in goal is alert to the danger and saves well from close range though.

28: Not a great deal of chances so far for either side. The Hammers have had a few attempts from range but Sanchez in goal hasn't really been tested properly. Neither has Trott, but he has of course had to pick one out the net.

21: Great strike by Ashley Fletcher on his left foot, but his effort is well blocked by a Seagulls defender. Good, direct play to get himself in the position to shoot from the big man.

20: As opposed to their regular 4-2-3-1 system, the youngsters are playing more of a 4-4-2 tonight with Martinez partnering Fletcher up top and Browne on the left.

18: Close again for the hosts! A cross is delivered by George Cox and though not under a great deal of pressure, Reece Oxford slices his clearance and it rolls just wide for a corner. The delivery goes straight out for a goal kick though.

11: Marcus Browne is fed by Moses Makasi breaking from left-back and, cutting into the middle, the youngster who last week signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the Club shoots wide.

9: The long ball just seemed to beat Declan Rice for pace and to be fair to Connolly, it was a great run which got him in behind. Work to do for the visitors.

7: Goal for Brighton. Connolly gets in behind after Dallison's long ball and finished well past Trott.

6: Toni Martinez gets the ball in an advances position and he cuts in to shoot with his left, but the keeper stops it well.

2: A good break from Marcus Browne comes down the left, but the playmaker is forced to turn and retreat. Plenty of early possession for the Hammers.

1: We're underway against Brighton and Hove Albion in Premier League 2!

6:45pm: We're just 15 minutes from kick-off here on the south coast. The Hammers have been in great form recently, beating Wolves comfortably in their last match before the Christmas break and beating Norwich City in their last outing. Let's hope for another victory this evening!

6:30pm: It's a nice setup they've got down here at Brighton's Elite Performance Centre. There are plenty of lovely pitches and the U23s are currently training on a warm-up area before we get going. Brighton are currently down in ninth in the league table and the Hammers, up in fourth, could potentially rise as high as second with a win this evening.
