Reece Byrne signed a one-year contract with West Ham United in September 2025, with the option of a further year.
The Republic of Ireland youth international began his footballing journey at grassroots level with St Joseph’s in Dublin, before progressing through the ranks at Bohemian FC’s Academy, where he represented his country at U16 and U19 level. He made his senior debut at just 17 in a League of Ireland Premier Division fixture against Dundalk.
In April 2023, Byrne joined Newcastle United, linking up with their U21s side. A knee injury sidelined him for ten months, though he returned to make his Premier League 2 debut in a 2-2 draw with Leicester City.
Following a successful trial period at Rush Green in August and September 2025, Byrne signed for the Hammers’ development squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
