Experienced midfielder Abbey-Leigh Stringer joined West Ham United from FA Women's Super League side Everton in he summer of 2021 and has been a regular starter.

The Nuneaton-born player started her career with Aston Villa as a schoolgirl before joining Birmingham City at the age of 19. After being loaned back to Villa, Stringer established herself at Birmingham, making 43 appearances over the course of five seasons and helping the Blues finish as runners-up in the 2017 FA Women's Cup final.

In 2018, she signed for Everton and played 47 times across three campaigns, finishing as an FA Women's Cup runner-up again in 2020, before switching to West Ham. Stringer featured regularly for England at youth level, winning 29 caps across four age-groups.

Started six of West Ham United's FA Women's Super League matches before Christmas, including the 1-0 home victory over Leicester City on 20 November 2022 and 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on 11 December 2022...Started the 2-0 home win over Birmingham City in the FA Women's League Cup group-stage on 27 November 2022.

2021/22

Made her West Ham United debut in a 2-0 FA Women's Super League defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion on 5 September 2021...Enjoyed her first victory in Claret and Blue on her third appearance, a 4-0 home FA Women's Super League win over Leicester City on 26 September 2021...Featured in four FA Women's League Cup ties, starting three, as the Hammers topped their group before losing 4-2 to Chelsea in the quarter-finals on 19 January 2022...Started three Women's FA Cup ties, all of which ended in victories - 4-1 at Sheffield United, 1-0 at Reading and 1-0 at Ipswich Town - in the third, fourth and fifth rounds respectively...Scored her maiden goal for West Ham United in a 2-1 FA Women's Super League win at Aston Villa on 6 February 2022...Completed her first campaign in Claret and Blue with 18 FA Women's Super League appearances, 13 of them starts, and one goal to her name...Totaled 25 appearances in all competitions, including 19 starts.
