West Ham United is delighted to announce that Emily Brown, Selin Cemal, Rebekah Dowsett and Ruby Warwick have joined the Club’s Professional Game Academy (PGA).
Eighteen-year-olds Brown and Cemal both arrive in east London after spending time in Chelsea and Arsenal’s academy set-up. Brown is a forward who has represented England at U16 level, whilst defender Cemal was called up to the Türkiye U19 national team earlier this year.
Goalkeeper Dowsett, who is also 18 years of age, arrives at Chadwell Heath having been on the books of Leicester City and Watford. She has represented England at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup and also helped the Young Lionesses finish second at the 2024 UEFA Women’s U17 Championship.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old defender Warwick has made the step up to the PGA from the West Ham United Foundation, having been at the Club for the past three seasons.
The PGA is a revised player pathway which replaced the FA WSL Academy in 2023. The PGA structure provides young players with the opportunity to be selected as part of a professional club’s programme, combining football development with their education.
This pathway will allow the players the opportunity to train with Rehanne Skinner’s first-team squad, as well as providing them with the chance to learn and develop at the team’s Chadwell Heath training ground.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Emily, Selin, Rebekah and Ruby to the Club and wish them every success with their development in Claret and Blue.
