West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of Wales international Ffion Morgan.
The versatile attacker, who will wear the No23 shirt, joins the Hammers on a two-year deal after departing Bristol City at the end of her contract.
Llandeilo-born Morgan made 89 appearances across all competitions during four seasons at the Robins, scoring 15 goals, and was crowned their Supporters’ Player of the Year last term.
Even more recently, the 25-year-old was part of a historic summer for Wales, which saw her play in all three group-stage matches at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 - her country’s first-ever appearance at a major competition.
Having returned from a memorable tournament in Switzerland, Morgan is now relishing the opportunity to get started in east London.
“I’m buzzing to be here,” said Morgan. “The conversations with the Club have gone on for a little while now, so it was an easy decision in the end.
“I’m a versatile player and can adapt to different positions. I have a lot of energy, I’m quick and can create chances for myself and my team. I like to be given the license and the confidence to express myself, and hopefully I can show that in the famous Claret and Blue.
“The last few months have been unreal. It’s been a dream come true to represent my country at a major tournament, especially with the amount of Welsh fans that were in the stands, including my family and friends. It was surreal - honestly, an unforgettable moment.
“But that’s made me even more excited for what’s to come in this next chapter at West Ham. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
Morgan’s footballing journey began at Bristol City's academy, before moving to Cardiff City, where she earned call-ups to the Wales youth squads. In 2017, the forward made her first senior appearance for her country in a FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying match against Northern Ireland.
She then spent a season at both Coventry United and Crystal Palace before signing for Barclays Women’s Super League 2 side Bristol City in the summer of 2021. After finishing third in her first campaign with the Robins, Morgan played a pivotal role in helping Bristol City achieve promotion to the WSL in 2023, scoring five goals as her side clinched the league title.
In October 2024, Morgan scored a crucial goal in Wales’ UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 play-off semi-final against Slovakia, and featured in both play-off final legs against Republic of Ireland, helping her country qualify for the final tournament for the first time.
Manager Rehanne Skinner is pleased to be reunited with the Wales forward, having worked with her previously.
“I’m delighted to welcome Ffion to West Ham United,” said Skinner. “She is an exciting talent with a hard-working attitude and a willingness to defend from the front. She is tenacious and has the ability to create and score goals, which she showed in abundance at her previous club.
“A player of Ffion’s calibre will complement our playing style perfectly, and, fresh from representing Wales at the Euros in Switzerland, I’m sure she will be full of positivity and want to hit the ground running.
“I had the pleasure of working with Ffion when she was 17 in the Wales youth sides, so I know what she’s about. I’m looking forward to working with her again and supporting her development in east London.”
Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Ffion to the Club and wish her every success during her time in Claret and Blue.
