West Ham United Football Club is heartbroken to learn of the sudden passing of former manager Matt Beard.
Matt joined us in the summer of 2018 ahead of our first season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
He led us to the final of the Women’s FA Cup at Wembley in May 2019 and helped build the foundations for our recent success.
Matt also managed Liverpool, whom he led to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, and also guided them to their first-ever UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.
He rejoined Liverpool in May 2021 and won promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking and most recently had a spell at Burnley.
The thoughts of everyone at the Club are with Matt’s family and friends as they navigate this devastating loss.
