Sarah Brasero | Career In Pictures

Despite being only 20 years old, Rehanne Skinner’s new midfielder Sarah Brasero arrives in east London with plenty of experience, both in her native England and abroad.

Moving from Sprowston in Norfolk in the summer of 2020, Brasero joined Ipswich Town and impressed in their Professional Game Academy (PGA) programme. Her senior debut for the Tractor Girls came soon after, aged 16, as she featured in a resounding 10-0 victory over Peterborough Northern Star in the Women’s FA Cup.

While 2020/21 was curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following season, Brasero would go on to make 16 appearances in Ipswich’s push for promotion from the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, which saw them finish third.

Ipswich also reached the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup that campaign where, coincidentally. they faced West Ham United. Brasero came on as a second-half substitute, battling against the likes of Hammers legends Gilly Flaherty, Kate Longhurst and, our No10, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir.

Away from club action, our new No21’s performances in East Anglia earned a first call-up to England’s U19 squad in November 2021 and she subsequently made her debut against the Netherlands.

Brasero then notched five goals from 23 appearances the following term for Ipswich, inspiring her former side to another impressive campaign in which they agonisingly fell short of promotion on goal difference.

It was then in the summer of 2023 that Brasero departed the Tractor Girls, whom she represented on 43 occasions, to step up to then Barclays Women’s Super League 2 outfit Lewes. The Young Lioness spent one season at the East Sussex club, making 17 appearances.

Brasero then started a new chapter as she joined Portuguese top-flight outfit G.D. Estoril Praia. While making 23 appearances abroad in 2024/25, Brasero was rewarded with her first England U23s call-up and made her debut, alongside Hammer Anouk Denton, in December 2024 against Sweden in Doncaster.

And now, Brasero is determined to make her mark with West Ham United in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
