West Ham United is delighted to confirm that Megan Walsh has signed a contract extension with the Club.
The goalkeeper has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal, having made ten appearances across all competitions since joining the Club from fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023.
The Republic of Ireland international produced a standout performance in the Irons’ Subway® Women's League Cup quarter-final win over Tottenham Hotspur last term, and has expressed her delight at extending her stay in east London.

“I’m happy to sign a new contract at West Ham United,” said the 30-year-old. “I’ve enjoyed my time here over the last couple of years. I feel settled and am ready to push on for another two years.
“We have a brilliant bunch of girls and the atmosphere in the building is great to be a part of. I enjoy working with someone like Chris [Pipe], who picks up little things in my game that I can improve on - his attention to detail is something that I really value.
“The growth of the Club since I’ve been here, and the job that Rehanne has done, has been evident for everyone to see. We’ve come on leaps and bounds in that time and I’m excited for what this team can achieve moving forwards.”
Bromsgrove-born Walsh, who represented her country at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is a stalwart of the WSL, having made over 100 combined top-flight appearances for the Hammers, the Seagulls, Yeovil Town, Notts County and Everton.

Women’s team manager Rehanne Skinner expressed the importance of retaining a player of Walsh’s experience in her first-team squad.
“I’m delighted that Megan has extended her contract at West Ham United,” she said.
“Megan is a goalkeeper with a wealth of experience and can make important saves at key moments in a game. She sets a high standard of herself and those around her, and is a leader both on and off the pitch.
“Megan is an integral part of this squad and I look forward to seeing the impact that she can continue to have on the group moving forwards.”
Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate Megan on her new contract and wish her every success for the upcoming campaign in Claret and Blue.
