West Ham United's new No1 Mads Hermansen has enjoyed a rise from his local club to the Premier League and senior Denmark squad.
A striker as a young schoolboy, Hermansen switched to between the sticks at the age of ten and joined Odense-based Næsby Boldklub.
At 15, he crossed the Great Beit to join Copenhagen-based Brøndby, where he was coached by new West Ham lead goalkeeper coach Casper Ankergren and established himself as the starting stopper at the age of 21.
After two seasons, during which he was named 2022 Player of the Year and travelled to the 2023 UEFA Euro U21 finals with Denmark, Hermansen transferred to Leicester City.
Hermansen won the EFL Championship title and was named in the divisional Team of the Season in 2023/24, then made over 100 saves in the Premier League for the Foxes last season.
He has recently become a regular member of the senior Denmark squad alongside the experienced Kasper Schmeichel.
Family-wise, Hermansen was joined at his signing for West Ham by his father, step-mother, mother and girlfriend Sofie.
