Mackenzie Arnold extends contract with West Ham United Women

West Ham United Women are delighted to announce that Mackenzie Arnold has signed a contract extension with the Club.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has made 42 appearances for the Irons since she joined the Club in the summer of 2020 and has been an integral part of the side under previous managers, Matt Beard and Olli Harder.

And Arnold will remain at the club under new manager Paul Konchesky, with the goalkeeper signing a contract extension until the summer of 2024.

Arnold produced match-winning moments on a number of occasions last term, proving once again to be a vital part of the West Ham United team. She produced strong performances against the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Reading, helping the Hammers to their highest ever points total in the Barclays FA Womens Super League.

Arnold is now looking forward to the new season and is ambitious about what the Club can achieve moving forward.

“West Ham has been a club that has felt like home to me since I first walked through the doors two years ago. I couldn’t be happier or prouder to extend my stay here,” Arnold told whufc.com.

“We’ve been improving each season and I’m excited to see us continue our progression up the table - a top 4-5 finish is something that I know we’re more than capable of.

“In the time Konch (Paul Konchesky) has been with us, I’ve learnt a lot from him - both on and off the field - and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team with him as our manager. I believe he can take us to the next step of where we need to be.

“I’ve been able to spend a fair bit of time switching off from football with my family and friends back home in Australia but I’m really looking forward to getting back with the girls and kicking off pre-season all together at the beginning of July.”

General Manager, Aidan Boxall spoke of his delight at being able to secure Arnold’s future at the Club for the next two years.

“We are very happy that Mackenzie has extended her contract with the club.

“Mackenzie has demonstrated on several occasions that she is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and has been a great asset to the club since she joined in 2020. Her performance away at Man City last season is a perfect example of this.

“Mackenzie is a key member of our squad and will be pivotal to our plans as we look ahead to the upcoming WSL season. She also has international aims of becoming the outright no.1 for Australia, and we will do everything we can to support her ambition.”

West Ham United would like to congratulate Mackenzie on signing her new contract and we look forward to seeing her perform in Claret and Blue in seasons to come.
